1991
The beginning of a great dream: Comestibles Aldor was founded in Cali, Colombia by the Aljure-Dorronsoro family (hence the name Aldor) with the philosophy of creating an export-oriented company that would produce candies within everyone reach.
With a lot of effort and tenacity, it started with a production capacity of 5 tons per day of pacifiers and hard candies, taking our exports to countries such as Panama, Ecuador and Haiti; later on, we managed to enter new markets such as the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and the United States.
In order to get closer and closer to the vision of its founders, the company starts participating in international fairs such as: Candy Expo, ISM, among others, and in the mid makes important investments in technology, acquiring modern equipment, which allows the company to increase its capacity and improve the quality of its products.
1997 – 2001
At that time, we learned that, if we wanted to survive, we could not do it through generic sweets, but through new concepts and powerful brands.
In 1999, Yogueta was born, a unique and novel concept of yoghurt and fruit flavoured lollipops with chewy fillings. Yogueta is our first launch, supported by a massive advertising campaign, launched in Colombia and in more than 20 countries around the world.
2002 – 2009
In 2003, Yogueta was launched in South Africa, becoming the favourite dummy of South Africans and achieving recognition as "The Coolest Brand" in the country.
From South Africa, we moved on to other African countries such as Zambia, Mozambique, Angola, Congo, Nigeria, Tanzania; achieving an important leadership position in each of these markets.
2010 – 2016
In the same year, it was decided on the importance of strengthening the Colombian domestic market and the acquisition of a modern plant for the production of Jelly Gum with the Play brand was approved, this category is the fastest growing in the local market.
In 2011, the acquisition of Frunas, the most loved brand of soft candy by Colombians, achieved a leading position in the market.
Two years later, in 2013, the Trolli brand was acquired to strengthen Gomas' strategy in Colombia and our competitive position in this category.
With the aim of continuing to consolidate the business strategy in Colombia, the AJ, Aldor and Johnson model was created, through which the company has managed to directly impact 40,000 shops a week and this has resulted in double-digit growth.
2020 – Currently
Today we produce more than 60,000 tonnes per year, between both plants, with sales in more than 50 countries across 5 continents.
Our brands, Pin Pop and Yogueta, have a leading market share in 6 countries in Africa and are second in many countries in South and Central America.
